Motivating students with Wordwall
Wordwall is an ICT tool that is ideal to keep students engaged during a lesson. It can be used to assess students' prior knowledge before adressing a new topic, or as a warmer to review what has been covered during previous sessions, also during the main part of the class or at the end of the session, to make it more interactive and make sure that students are understanding what is being taught and, as well it could be assigned as homework.
Activities can be displayed in different templates, such as, match up, quiz, random cards, anagram, group sort, random wheel, missing word, find the match, flash cards, matching pairs, unjumble, open the box, hangman, labelled diagram, wordsearch, flip tiles, crossword and gameshow quiz.
In this link you can try a match up activity that I created with Wordwall on the topic "Animals":
Let me know what you think about Wordwall if you have the chance to try it. I, personally, love the visuals of this page, I think that the colors make the activities visually attractive to children and it's an excellent tool to be used in class letting students play with the interactive whiteboard, as a group, or individually on their tablets or Chromebooks.
